About the school

II Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Mieszka I in Szczecin, IB World School No. 3885,

Model United Nations conferences (MUN in abbreviation) are simulations of real United Nations (UN) proceedings. They are organised worldwide by both High school and University Students, as they enable their participants to experience debates in a professional environment, develop multinational connections, enhance their public speaking skills, and create a chance to uncover the realms of international relations.

The participants of such conferences may take up different roles, including Delegates, with the aim of representing a State, or Chairs, whose role is to moderate debates in respective committees. The purpose of each committee is creating a resolution, which is to solve pressing, global issues, after coming to a consensus with respective Delegates and Representatives.

Another crucial role in MUNs are the Chairpersons of each committee, whose task is first and foremost to moderate the debates within the course of the conference. Their duty is to create a study guide as well as ensure that the Delegates are prepared to the best of their abilities for the conference.

Model United Nations is a world of opportunity, contacts and self-improvement. The best possible way of telling you what MUN are, is to experience it yourself and benefit from the event to the greatest extent.
