Prospective Delegates,

Last, but definitely not least, one of the most interesting committees this year – World Health Organisation, along with its outstanding Chairpersons, Małgorzata Kocińska and Barbara Bątkowska! This stellar and talented duo will provide you with one of the juiciest discussions this year – „Resolving the global crisis of fentanyl abuse”.

Being 50 times stronger than heroin, the addiction rates to fentanyl are skyrocketing. The opioids’ addictive tendencies and growing popularity make this issue a global matter of utmost importance and urgency.

Seeing as even the tiniest amount, as little as 2 milligrams, of fentanyl can be lethal, it is a necessity that the international community responds to the situation, and protects the citizens of the world.

The main objective of our debates is to address the root causes and influential factors, which contribute to the growth of this deadly crisis. Fentanyl’s relatively cheap price of production, its increased use to contaminate other drugs (without the buyers knowledge), or the difficulty to detect whether drugs are laced with it without proper testing, are examples of things which will be challenging to tackle.

During the discussions, delegates will be required to undertake this challenge, and facilitate an effective response to those, and similar factors of this pressing matter.
We warmly invite you to be a part of this effort, and are excited to see how you manage to address this problem!
